The very biggest football in fact!
We’ve worked with ITV Sport on every football World Cup and European Championships since 1996.
We were there for all those memorable England performances in Japan, South Africa, Brazil, France, Portugal, Russia – you remember them don’t you?
For ITV we work on unilateral facilities. We do commentary of course, the plumbing not the words! We’re also pitch side for live presentations, in the players’ tunnel for live interviews and behind the scenes for some engineering roles.
With peak audiences of 20 million nothing is left to chance. We’re not happy unless there’s a backup for the backup of the backup! Then, when we’ve got it all working, we sit around pondering what we’d do if all that went wrong. We’re nice people at Sound Credit but really boring sometimes!
Happy days with ITV in Australia, New Zealand France and Japan.
In 2015 when the Rugby World Cup came home we were contracted by both “IMG” and “England Rugby”.
For IMG we serviced the international media tribune for all visiting broadcasters. This included a Dante commentary system and a multi channel digital video system.
For “England Rugby” we managed technical facilities at press conferences and provided a remote IP translation service. The media were given wireless headsets to hear simultaneous translation in four languages.
For the hub at Twickenham we provided the press conference stage and set together with AV facilities.
We also work on the Six Nations Championship and European rugby for BT Sport.
It’s fair to say we get about!
The UEFA Champions League and Europa League take us to all corners of Europe.
In the early days it would be ‘fun’ making twisted bits of telephone wire into clean broadcast circuits. Back then even making an international phone call was a challenge!
The internet age is a big improvement and UEFA have continually raised the technical standard.
We currently work for BT Sport providing flyaway commentary and reporter packages for European away matches. At home we service media tribune facilities for visiting broadcasters.
On top of that there’s basketball, a bit of tennis, the FA Cup, Olympics, cricket and golf and we happily go wherever it takes us!
SCTV have serviced Premier League broadcasters with remote commentary positions since 1998 – almost as long as the league has been in business!
Our tech has moved with the times. Commentary and communications circuits now whiz along AOIP fibre optic cables and interconnect on our bespoke ‘internet bridge’ at Stockley Park to be on-passed to broadcasters all round the world.
We also supply a ROIP (radio over Ip) service which is used by match officials and VAR teams to communicate with the EPL match centre in London.
Not just ball games!
We’re proud to work for the IAAF on many of their elite international athletics meetings.
We manage the network audio system throughout the TV compound, deliver foreign commentaries, DVB systems for press and media, live stand up positions for reporters and commentary cameras.
Our versatile team; creative, industrious and fun to work with
We have three warehouses full of it!
