After months of preparation, our dozen-strong team descended onto the stadium, and spent the week running up to the match rigging and testing, trying to foresee all eventualities.
Our Commentary Control Room (CCR) based below the commentary positions took care of all the connectivity and communications, establishing connections with international broadcasters and liaising with their respective control rooms, leaving the commentators to do what they do best, knowing that they are in a safe set of hands.
After the match, we were delighted to receive the following praise from the organisers.
"Let me thank you very much for your hard work which resulted in a high class world feed production and fantastic host broadcast operation. I see it as a big success ! And also from what I have heard so far, it seems, you and your ITV team have done a great job. We received a lot of very positive feedback on Matchnight from visiting broadcasters who were very satisfied by the services they received from ITV and the facilities they got.
I simply did not get any negative feedback or complaints about HB operations and services so far. ITV did a great job, broadcasters were very satisfied and pleased.
One piece of the success is that you have a very professional, very experienced and hard working crew, but the other piece, the one which makes the “little” difference, is that the people working for you are nice, kind and great people. "
